 | | | | | | | On April 4th and 5th, multiple fraudulent e-mails were sent to the general public maliciously using our company name, Euro Code Tuning. Known as "phishing," the bogus e-mails ask the recipient to click on a link to verify their credit card account information. If the recipient proceeds to do so, the link directs them to a bogus website and asks for their credit card and other personal information.
Please be aware of this fraudulent activity and do not submit your information to anyone! Euro Code Tuning does not solicit personal information and no such e-mail requests should be interpreted as legitimate. Anyone who receives an e-mail that purports to be from Euro Code Tuning and which asks for account information should consider it to be a fraudulent attempt to obtain their personal account data for an illegal purpose and should NOT follow the instructions in the e-mail.
If you responded to such an e-mail and provided any confidential account information, please notify your credit card company immediately of the scheme. You should also take any additional action recommended by your credit card company to protect your account.
If you feel that you have received a fraudulent e-mail purportedly from Euro Code Tuning please forward the entire message to info@ecodetuning.com.
We would also like to take this time to make it clear that no information was obtained from our servers and no legitimate Euro Code Tuning customer data has been compromised. Rather, recipient e-mail addresses were obtained through an illegal trolling of pulic, online automotive enthusiast forums, affecting users who have never visited our website before. Again, these email addresses were NOT taken from our secure servers, and no customer data has been compromised in any way.
Please rest assured that security is a top priority for us here at Euro Code, and we take all steps possible to protect our customers' sensitive information. This includes maintaining a policy whereby we do not store ANY credit card information on our servers unless specifically instructed to do so by our customers during checkout. We likewise maintain strict privacy policies whereby we share customer information - including e-mail addresses - with absolutely no one. Furthermore, if any of our customers are not comfortable placing orders online, we still offer the old-fashioned phone order.
Again, our customers' security is a top priority for us, and we want to advise in the strongest terms possible against submitting ANY personal information to unknown sources online. Additionally, if you suspect fraudulent activity by e-mail, you can (and we encourage you to!) file formal complaints with the Internet Fraud Complaint Center (IFCC) at www.ic3.gov. The IFCC is a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National White Collar Crime Center.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at info@ecodetuning.com and we'll do our best to answer concerns you may have. Until then, happy motoring...
