APR has been leading in the Audi and Volkswagen performance market since the first release of their tuned Audi A4 1.8T programming back in 1997. Enthusiasts themselves, APR has - since the beginning - upheld a commitment to bringing investment, tools, staff, and know-how to the aftermarket tuning industry, and has developed world class software and hardware packages unrivaled in their power and driveability.

From the release of its first code for the A4, APR has consistantly set the standard for horsepower and torque, whether on TTs, GTIs or Stage III S4's. Their research and development expertise and practices likewise serve as a benchmark for the industry, as they develop systems allowing for total control of vehicle tuning and driveability factors. Whether it's modeling and prototyping or testing on the dyno, APR's engineers have a proven record of providing performance that consistantly exceeds expectations.

Further serving as pioneers, in 2001 APR developed and released their Enhanced Modular Chipping System (ECMS), which transformed the tuning industry worldwide. ECMS gave drivers the ability to choose from multiple programming options through the use of their cars' cruise control stalks. In 2003, history repeated itself as APR further developed the system to allow users to program their cars without even touching their ECUs though the use of Direct Port Programming (DPP). And APR continues to stay at the forefront by revisiting code as new tools for analysis become available, always bringing the latest technology into play to improve performance and driveability.
